How to Play

  1. Pick a time of day — Morning is the steadiest, Night is the shakiest — and a Wobble setting, then start a 60-second round.
  2. On desktop, move your mouse to aim; the crosshair drifts toward it with a heavy, laggy feel, plus a constant handshake wobble. On mobile, drag the left half of the screen to steer.
  3. When a bird is inside the crosshair, it turns green and beeps. Click, press Space, or tap the trigger button to shoot.
  4. After every shot you need to reload — right-click, press R, or tap the smaller reload button — before you can fire again.
  5. Move your mouse near the left/right edge (or two-finger swipe / tilt on mobile) to scroll the scenery and find more birds. Smaller, faster birds are worth more points.

Tips to Score High

  • Don't pull the trigger the instant the crosshair turns green — the wobble can carry it back out before your shot registers. A beat of patience often pays off.
  • Remember to reload immediately after every shot — a forgotten reload is the most common reason a clean shot doesn't fire.
  • If Night's wobble feels unfair, drop the Wobble setting to Low — it's there to make any time of day approachable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bird Snap free to play?

Yes — completely free, no signup, no download. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you do is sent to a server.

Why does the crosshair shake?

It simulates a handheld, unsteady aim — the crosshair lags behind your mouse and wobbles constantly, getting shakier at Sunset and Night. Use the Wobble setting (Low/Normal/High) to make it easier or harder.

How do I control the crosshair on mobile?

Drag anywhere on the left half of the screen — a faint joystick circle appears where your thumb lands, and dragging away from it steers the crosshair. Tap the round trigger button to shoot, and the smaller button above it to reload.

Why didn't my shot score anything?

The crosshair needs to be over a bird — it glows green and beeps when a bird is inside it. You also need to reload (right-click, the R key, or the reload button) after every shot before you can fire again.

What determines my score?

Smaller, faster birds are harder to track and worth more points. Your best score is saved per time-of-day setting, right in your browser.

Is there any real money, betting, or prizes involved?

No — this is a casual game only. There's no real money, betting, or rewards of any kind.
