What is the IBPS RRB Photo & Signature Resizer?

IBPS Regional Rural Banks Examination applicants need their photo and signature to match the portal's exact upload requirements — currently photo, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration, each with its own pixel size and file-size window. Bank recruitment portals (IBPS, SBI, RBI and similar) are notorious for strict, unforgiving upload validation across several documents at once — photo, signature, thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration all have to independently fit their own size window in the same sitting.

This page pre-loads IBPS RRB's own spec into the resizer below, one tab per required item, so you can upload a photo, crop it to the correct ratio, and compress it into the required KB range without looking up a single number yourself.

How to use it

  1. Open the official IBPS RRB notification (link above) and confirm the current photo/signature requirements — specs do change between recruitment cycles.
  2. Pick the matching tab below (photo, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration) — the target size and file-size range are already filled in.
  3. Upload your photo or signature — JPG, PNG, WEBP, or a HEIC photo straight from a phone.
  4. Crop to the locked ratio, and use background removal (or paper-background removal for a signature) if the notification requires a plain background.
  5. Click "Resize & Compress" and download once the final size shows green — if it shows red, widen the range slightly or try a different source photo.

How it works, and why it's private

Bank recruitment portals (IBPS, SBI, RBI and similar) are notorious for strict, unforgiving upload validation across several documents at once — photo, signature, thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration all have to independently fit their own size window in the same sitting. Entering the target pixel size and KB range once, instead of fighting with an image editor's percentage-based "save for web" slider, is what actually gets a file to land inside a specific window on the first try.

The resizer binary-searches JPEG quality first (the gentlest way to shrink a file) and only reduces the actual pixel dimensions if quality alone can't fit under the maximum — so a photo doesn't get visibly softer than it needs to be just to hit a byte count.

Keep a copy of the exact file you uploaded until your application is confirmed, in case you need to resubmit it elsewhere in the same form. Everything runs in your browser using Canvas and WebAssembly — your photo is never uploaded anywhere, including to this site.

Example

Common reasons a IBPS RRB photo or signature gets rejected:

• The signature was scanned or photographed on a full sheet of paper with a large blank margin still attached
• The photo is more than a few months old, or taken in different lighting/clothing than what the portal's guidance expects
• The image is blurry or low-resolution after being resized down awkwardly in a messaging app before upload
• The file format doesn't match what's required (a PNG uploaded where only JPG is accepted, or vice versa)

Frequently asked questions

What is the exact photo size for IBPS RRB?

As loaded in this tool (not yet independently verified against the latest official notification): photo at 200×230px (20-50 KB), signature at 140×60px (10-20 KB), left thumb impression at 240×240px (20-50 KB), handwritten declaration at 800×400px (50-100 KB). Always cross-check this against the current IBPS RRB notification before submitting, since specs can change between recruitment cycles.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere when I use this tool?

No. Cropping, background removal, and compression all run locally in your browser — your photo is never sent to a server, including ours.

What's the most common reason IBPS RRB rejects an uploaded photo?

The signature was scanned or photographed on a full sheet of paper with a large blank margin still attached. This tool's crop-and-compress flow is built specifically to avoid that.

Can I use a photo of my signature, or does it need to be scanned?

A clear photo works fine — sign in dark ink on plain white paper, photograph it in good light, then use this tool's background removal and auto-trim to clean it up into a proper signature file.

Where do I confirm IBPS RRB's current requirements are still accurate?

Always check the official IBPS RRB notification directly at https://www.ibps.in before submitting — specs in this tool are a starting point, not a guarantee they match the current cycle.
