What is the Compress to 50 KB tool?

This tool reduces the file size of your photos to 50 KB or less, keeping the best quality that fits.

It is made for job and exam forms, email attachments and WhatsApp, where large photos are rejected.

How to use it

  1. Upload your photos (up to 12).
  2. The target is set to 50 KB.
  3. Click Compress.
  4. Check the new size and download, or download all as a ZIP.

How it works

The photo is saved as JPG (or WEBP) many times at different quality levels to find the highest quality that is still under the limit.

If even low quality is too big — for example a 12 MB photo squeezed to 10 KB — the width and height are reduced a little at a time until it fits.

Example

A 3 MB phone photo compressed to 50 KB

Before: 4000×3000, 3.1 MB
After: under 50 KB
Dimensions reduced as needed to keep faces clear

Frequently asked questions

Will the photo look bad at 50 KB?

Usually not — most phone photos look the same at this size on screen.

KB or KiB — which does the form mean?

This tool counts 1 KB = 1024 bytes, which is what Windows and most exam portals use, and it always stays slightly under the limit.

My photo is already smaller than the target

Then it is kept at the best quality. If a form needs a bigger file, use Increase Image Size in KB.

Can I use iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. HEIC photos from iPhones are converted automatically, then processed like any JPG.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Your photos are never sent to a server, so it is safe for ID cards, documents and personal pictures.
